Creating VLAN interfaces

According to the requirements listed in Requirements for the compute cluster, it is recommended to configure VLAN interfaces over network bonds for the compute cluster. You can create these logical interfaces on the Network tab. Additionally, VLAN network interfaces on the compute nodes can be created with the automated procedure outlined in Managing the compute network.

To create a VLAN interface on a node

  1. On the Infrastructure > Nodes screen, click the name of the node on which to configure VLAN.
  2. Go to the Network tab.
  3. Select a network interface, and then click Create VLAN.
  4. On the Configure VLAN pane, specify a number for VLAN, add an IP address, and, if necessary, set up a gateway. The provided gateway will become node’s default. Then, click Proceed.
  5. On the Assign network pane, select a network to connect the VLAN network interface to, and then click Done.
