What's new in version 1.2
Cross-platform file exchange via clipboard
- Introducing a seamless way to transfer files between local and remote machines within your remote connections via the NEAR protocol.
- Cross-platform compatibility: File exchange is supported across various operating systems, ensuring a consistent experience for all users.
- No file size or quantity limitations: You can transfer files of any size or number with ease.
Multi-monitor screen browsing in separate windows
- Explore enhanced remote desktop experience with the capability to view and interact with screens from multiple remote monitors within separate windows.
- Split mode for perfect mapping: If you have a local setup with multiple monitors and are connected to a remote machine with an equivalent number of monitors, you can achieve a 1:1 mapping of screens. This ensures that your remote desktop mirrors your local setup accurately.
- NEAR protocol integration: This feature is available within remote connections via NEAR protocol.

UAC elevation prompt in Acronis Cyber Protect Connect Quick Assist for Windows
IT technicians who log in as non-administrative users to a remote Windows workload by using Quick Assist will be able to elevate their privileges on the remote workload and perform tasks that require administrator rights.
Common credentials
It's possible to save workload credentials in the Credentials store, and then use the same credentials (called "common credentials") for automatic authentication when establishing remote connections to multiple workloads.
Email-based two-factor authentication within a team
It’s possible to enhance the security of user accounts within a team by configuring two-factor authentication. Users will be allowed to log in after providing a correct username, password, and one-time verification code that is sent to their email address.
Centralized configuration and distribution of agent settings within a team
With the Acronis Cyber Protect Connect console, it’s possible to manage the agent settings within a team, and then distribute them automatically to all workloads in the team.
"Optimize for Retina displays" setting for RDP connections
With the new “Optimize for Retina displays” setting, users will be able to get a precise image of the Windows remote desktop when connecting via RDP from a Mac with a Retina display.

What's new in version 1.0
Multitenancy for Teams
Acronis Cyber Protect Connect supports managing the workloads of multiple organizations within one account, creating team access groups, and building custom agents for teams.
Remote access via cloud connection
A cloud connection is a connection established between the client and the agent via Acronis Cyber Protect Connect gateway servers located in the cloud. It's possible to set up a cloud connection by adding the Acronis Cyber Protect Connect account to the list of trusted users in the agent and accessing the remote workload without entering the access code.
Remote access via direct connection
For the cases when the remote connection via the internet is not possible or not appropriate a direct connection to the remote workload by specifying the IP address (or hostname) of the remote workload is possible.
Remote connection via NEAR
NEAR is an Acronis proprietary low-latency remote desktop protocol with the following features:
- Hardware-accelerated H.264 video encoding that provides full HD resolution of the pictures.
- An adaptive codec that provides full picture quality in 32-bit.
- Sound transfer. NEAR is capable of capturing the remote workload sound and transferring it to the local workload.
- Logon methods: access code, system logon, asking the remote user for observation/control, no authentication.
- Multiuser access on Mac allows logging into a separate session for each user's credentials.
- Security. The data is always encrypted with two-way AES encryption.
Remote connection via RDP, Apple Screen Sharing, and VNC
Acronis Cyber Protect Connect allows establishing a connection to the target workload via third-party remote connection services, i.e., Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) for Windows, Apple Screen Sharing for Mac, and Virtual Network Computing (VNC) for Windows and Linux.
Finding a workload in the local area network
The Nearby scanner combines the capabilities of Bonjour technology with a NetBIOS scanner for the local area network, which allows the workloads to find each other in the local network.
Remote actions on the workloads
It's possible to perform the following remote actions on the target workloads: restart, put to sleep, shut down, log out the selected user, and empty trash for the selected user.
Multiple monitors support
If the remote workload has multiple displays, IT technicians can choose whether to view one of the displays or both in a combined view.
Sharing clipboards between managing and managed workloads
Acronis Cyber Protect Connect allows transferring data between the managing workload clipboard and the clipboard of the managed remote workload.
Capturing the remote desktop screen to a file
It's possible to take a screenshot of the remote screen and save it to a file on the local workload.
Session selection
If there are multiple desktop sessions on the remote workload it's possible to select the one to connect.
File transfer and sharing
Users can share files, images, and texts between the local and remote workloads.
Remote assistance via the Quick Assist application
To provide on-demand remote assistance to remote users, it's possible to use a portable Quick Assist application that does not require installation.
Multiple workload observer
Acronis Cyber Protect Connect single pane of glass allows can monitor all workloads at once in one window.
Session recording
To perform further analysis of remote sessions, it's possible to record and archive them.
Pre-session and in-session chat
Acronis Cyber Protect Connect provides pre-session and in-session chat to support communication with remote users and get the details about their issues.
Proactive monitoring
It's possible to monitor base system health parameters and get alerts about the issues with HDD, firewall, or battery.
Monitoring via screenshot transmission
It's possible to monitor remote user activities via the screenshot transmission.
Location tracking
Acronis Cyber Protect Connect allows tracking the physical location of the managed portable workloads and shows this location on the map.
System reports
System reports provide comprehensive information about the hardware configuration of the remote workload.
Session history
It's possible to browse across a history of all remote sessions performed via Acronis Cyber Protect Connect.
