Overview
Acronis Cyber Desktop is a free remote desktop solution that enables service providers and IT technicians to manage their clients' workloads effectively.
What's new
Remote access via cloud connection
IT technicians can set up a cloud connection by adding their Cyber Desktop account to the list of trusted users in the agent and access the remote workload without entering the access code. Cloud connection is a connection established between the client and the agent via Cyber Desktop gateway servers located in the cloud.
Remote access via direct connection
IT technicians can set up a direct connection to the remote workload by specifying the IP address (or hostname) of the remote workload.
Unattended access via NEAR
NEAR a low-latency remote desktop protocol with the following features:
- Hardware-accelerated H.264 video encoding that provides full HD resolution of the pictures.
- An adaptive codec that provides full picture quality in 32-bit.
- Sound transfer. NEAR is capable of capturing the remote workload sound and transferring it to the local workload.
- Logon methods: access code, system logon, no authentication.
- Multiuser access on Mac allows logging into a separate session for each user's credentials.
- Security. The data is always two-way encrypted with AES encryption.
Unattended access via RDP, Screen Sharing, VNC
Cyber Desktop allows establishing a connection to the target workload via third-party remote connection services, i.e., Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) for Windows, Screen Sharing for Mac, and Virtual Network Computing (VNC).
Finding a workload in the local area network
The Nearby scanner combines the capabilities of Bonjour technology with a NetBIOS scanner for the local area network, which allows workloads to find each other in the local network.
Remote actions on the workloads
IT technicians can perform the following remote actions on the target workloads: restart, put to sleep, shut down, log out the selected user, empty trash for the selected user.
Multiple monitors support
If the remote workload has multiple displays, IT technicians can choose whether to view one of the displays or both in a combined view.
Sharing clipboards between managing and managed workloads
IT administrators can transfer data between the managing workload clipboard and the clipboard of the remote workload.
Capturing the remote desktop screen to a file
IT technicians can take a screenshot of the remote screen and save it to a file on the local workload.
Limitations
- Remote desktop session duration is 15 minutes
- One concurrent remote desktop session per client
